The Delhi High Court on Tuesday cancelled Utsav Bhasin’s bail, whose BMW car last Thursday hit two people on a motorcycle, one of whom later succumbed to his injuries.Bhasin’s bail was cancelled after the Delhi Police slapped fresh charges against him of culpable homicide not amounting to murder under Section 304 (II) of the Indian Penal Code. He is now likely to be arrested.The new charges were filed based on a statement from Mrigank Srivastav, who survived the accident but lost his friend Anuj Singh.The accident took place in South Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar area, near Moolchand flyover, at around 2.30 am.Anuj Singh died after suffering injuries on cervical spine and slipping into coma.Bhasin (19) was at the wheels, along with a woman, when his car allegedly hit the men on motorcycle. The two immediately fled the scene. The teenager was arrested hours later from Kashmiri Gate while trying to flee to Chandigarh, police said.He was later released on bail after giving two sureties of Rs 20,000 each. A case under Sections 279 (rash and negligent driving) and 337 (causing hurt and endangering life) of the IPC was initially registered against him.After Anuj’s death, police pressed more charges on Bhasin which included Section 304(A) – causing death due to rash driving
