West Bengal’s loss could very well be Karnataka’s gain, with Tata Motors now actively looking at the possibility of rolling out the Rs 1 lakh beauty Nano from Dharward in Karnataka. The development came after Tata Motors managing director Ravi Kant met CM Yeddyurappa on Thursday and discussed the possibility considering that Karnataka governments has offered to provide 1000 acres of land and other incentives for the mega project.Emerging from the meet, a visibly pleased Yeddyurappa said, “Tatas were very receptive of our proposal. Moreover, we hope of a positive outcome in view of our excellent relationship.” Ravi Kant on his part made it clear that they have not yet made a decision on whether they will pull out of Singur and are closely watching the situation.“We are actively looking at alternatives too,” added Kant. Incidentally, Tata Motors already have a presence in Dharward through their bus venture.
